What is a Digital Product Passport?
A Digital Product Passport is a structured digital record of a product, linking its identity with relevant information. The exact content, access rights and technical requirements depend on the applicable product category.
Under Article 77 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, from 18 February 2027 a passport is required for LMT batteries, EV batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh placed on the market or put into service. Other categories follow their own legal acts and timelines.
The platform is designed to help importers collect and organize product information. The scope of each implementation must be checked against the importer’s obligations and product category.
